Three Peoria-area Newspeople to OSF HealthCare

The new year will see three Peoria-area broadcasters moving to careers in health communications.  WEEK-TV main news anchor Libby Allison, Peoria Public Radio's Alex Rusciano, and morning news reader Stacy Campbell of Mix 106.9 radio are all starting work at OSF HealthCare.  Rusciano is an INBA member and has attended the last several conventions.  He's been at WCBU since 2010.

INBA Student Award Winner returns to Illinois

Multi-media journalist Lindsey Harrison is now back in Illinois; she is heading the Bloomington/Normal Bureau for WMBD-TV.  Harrison has been an MMJ at another Nexstar station, WTWO in Terre Haute, since just after her graduation from Illinois State University in May 2014.  At ISU, Harrison was an active SINBA member, attended the Spring 2014 convention, and won two student awards.
 

Iconic Chicago Weatherman Dies

Legendary Chicago weatherman Harry Volkman has died.

He died Thursday after a long illness at the age of 89, his son, radio personality Eddie Volkman, confirmed to CBS 2.

The elder Volkman spent more than 50 years as a TV weatherman and meteorologist. Eighteen of them were at CBS 2.
