Intergrity of Journalism

In an interview with David Gergen, published in Parade, former NY governor Eliot Spitzer had the following to say about the current state of journalism. He references his new show on CNN, which begins Monday (October 4).

"Over the past 20 years, the integrity of journalism as reporting has been lost. What we now have is journalistic advocacy, which has diminished the quality of news. I will be a commentator who will try very hard to present fact as fact; opinion will be clearly denoted as opinion."

The INBA Code of Ethics, calls for journalists "to label clearly all broadcast opinion and commentary."
