Covering News Around St. Louis

Many journalists are working to cover the constantly evolving developments in Ferguson, Missouri and all over St. Louis County.  A Ferguson police officer fatally shot 18-year-old Michael Brown on August 9, and that has sparked looting and riots, but also protests, debates, discussions, benefit concerts, art shows and more.
INBA Board Member Rachel Lippman is part of the team at KWMU (St. Louis Public Radio), and her work can be found here:   http://news.stlpublicradio.org/post/four-days-activists-look-ways-channel-frustration-over-michael-browns-death
KMOX radio is also doing extensive coverage, including an interview with the mother of shooting victim Michael Brown. http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2014/08/13/browns-mother-we-dont-know-what-happened/
St. Louis television stations are offering expanded coverage as well.  KSDK.com has a live banner crawl with public safety information, such as road and business closures.   Wednesday night, KMOV-TV hosted a “Community Conversation” inviting its audience to talk about the situation and the various responses.
KTVI-TV has an interview with Ferguson’s Mayor:  http://fox2now.com/2014/08/13/fergusons-mayor-speaks-candidly-about-his-city-with-mandy-murphey/
And in many cases, stations are highlighting their own staffers’ perspective and experiences, like KMOV-TV’s first-hand account from a photographer who had been in the midst of a Wednesday night incident.  http://www.kmov.com/video?id=271178351&sec=549692&ref=articlevidmod
